In a PBS, Public Broadcast Station, special which Edward Norton, Actor, is narrator and star, there is a story of a lawyer who has a Prius. The lawyer also has SUVs but drives the hybrid to work. A good thing to buy along with the Prius or any hybrid vehicle is an extended warrenty. Not only for the unforseen problems of software glitches, but also for battery replacement, if needed. I have warrenty for my labtop which will pay for itself if I merly get a battery replacement, not to mention if some hardware breaks on it.

In South Africa Toyota has not made the car avaialable for purchase. You can only rent it through what is known as a "full maintenance lease". This way, you only pay for petrol and tyres, and Toyota pays for EVERYTHING else. Cost: ZAR4900/month = USD820/month
